Wallet with folded front DIY:
Ingredients for this wallet:
- (black) Leather
- +/- 40 cm cotton rope
- Tape (for making a ‘shoe lace cord end’)
- 1 Silver or black button stud , this is for fixing the cord (I used a silver stud and made it black with nailpolish)
- 16 CM (black) zipper
- (black) Sewing yarn
- Fabric scissors
- Sewing machine
+ My own label 🙂
Button stud. (I made the top part of this stud in black by using black nailpolish)
So now you have all ingredients there. Save the pattern in the picture below and you are ready to start cutting the leather in the correct sizes.
FOLD WALLET PATTERN:
Trace the patterns onto the fabric and cut the pieces you will need.
Start with the inside of the wallet by stitching the zippper at the divider.
Also add the sides of the wallet.
This is the first step of the 1,5 cm ‘zigzag pleating’
This technique is visible at the pictures below. (don’t forget to use the other 3 dividers as well.)
zigzag with all 4 dividers.
top view of the ‘inside’ wallet.
Now add the outside leather of the wallet. stitch the other side of the zippertape and fold the top of the leater 4 cm (as mentioned in pattern sheet)
now your wallet is almost finished!
(I add my brandnew labelling as well! :D)
Add a small hole in the wallet to attach the ‘button stud’ & cotton rope.
Now the outside of the wallet should look like this:
Now you’re DONE!
….and ready for shopping 😉
