The Vest Keramiek ‘fat lava’ chimney vase by Marius van Woerden

‘Looks like foam feels like ceramic’

This funny looking chimney vase is reserved for a few flowers.

The vase from ‘Vest keramiek’ is designed by Marius van Woerden. Made in Gouda (the Netherlands) in the 1970’s. He and his brother became well known with their special structure they gave the ceramics. the structure looks like foamy matte cream colored glaze. Poured over a dark brown glaze. This is called ‘schuimglazuur’ in dutch. – foam glaze. also called ‘fat lava’
It is known that the Van Woerden brothers never signed the bottom of their ceramics, so it is no surprise that there are no markings on the underside of the vase.
